Hello! I’m Angie and I'm the designer, maker, packer, and creative force behind Oakdene Laser Crafts. What started as a long time dream is now my full-time passion - crafting unique, handmade pieces from my Lincolnshire workshop.
Here’s a little about how I got here…
My Story
After 25 years in engineering and marketing (yes, I’ve written more reports than I care to count), I finally followed the creative spark I’ve had since school. With degrees in both Engineering and Product Design, I now spend my days doing what I truly love—designing and hand-making beautiful things from oak veneer and acrylic in my little workshop in the Lincolnshire Wolds , which we have called home for the last 23 years.
What began with a family request for some Dungeons & Dragons accessories quickly turned into a full-blown range—and a bit of a cult following! The weaving looms came next, after my son brought home a cardboard one from school that kept falling apart. I designed him a wooden version that actually worked—and it turns out other families loved them too. I spent some time learning the craft and mastering the tools of laser cutting and design, constantly trying new ideas. Before long, I was creating the kind of Christmas decor I’d always dreamed of—pieces full of warmth, detail, and a little bit of magic. In 2018, I started holding stands at large Christmas Markets, and I’ve never looked back, attending events throughout the year now. I truly love the buzz of meeting new people, sharing what I’ve made, and being part of such a creative, inspiring community.
I’m a one-woman band here at Oakdene Laser Crafts: I design it, laser it, finish it, pack it- and sometimes chase a dog off it. From personalised journals and signs to geeky gifts and heritage decor, every piece is laser-cut and lovingly hand-finished by me.
I live with my amazing husband - who is by my side at every craft show, helping me bring this dream to life, as well as being able to reach the roof box ;) We also have an awesome son, and three nutty dogs who think they run the place. Thank you for supporting small, handmade, slightly-chaotic businesses like mine!
